That's how I feel about SciFi

So I've been waiting for "District 9" to come out for awhile although I'd definitely say that they did a damn good job of keeping everything quite about it. Yes, I finally saw it.I thought it was going to be maybe like a much better "Silent Running" type of movie that is shot somewhat in a mock-umentary format. But believe me, it is not. Though it starts out like that for maybe a good 20 minutes or more, you will soon see it is not a mock-umentary of some fictional alien/human incident. No, it was created by a very talented writer and CG Artist of Vancouver, BC, Canada.
And what all of this crazy and complex story has lifted off of me is the fact that storylines that actually seem to have a purpose, that though there is aliens or it is in space. It's only to cause a sense of wonder while still tying us to the ground that we are human. And that there will always be struggles. This is what alot of the superhero movies of today seem to be about. And I'm glad to see it is what is back in Science Fiction. Not some lame story wrapped in explosions and sex to sell.
But more importantly and I've felt this way for a while now, is that those few and ignorant people that make us look bad. Its really hard to fix what they do. Its the way its always been. Much like human trust, is slow to build and easy to break. It is these human emotions that make Science Fiction the nerd's equivalent of a good Shakespeare story. It is good to have that back.
And that's how I feel about SciFi!

*Don't worry I'll write a review though it may be a little redundant now, but I need sleep in order to get money tomorrow!

So possible business plans, etc.

So I'm finally back home, and its time to get some business done seeing as its the last day of the weekend. Even better is I actually have work starting up tomorrow again! Perfect situation to ask for a raise as well I might add! Anyways, back on to business. So my friend is thinking of starting a possible non-profit or other like minded business. I too am going to be a member of the team and well, here's what we are setting out to do.

There is a lack of good decent websites that list and review American goods or partially Made in America products. I don't want to force you guys onto the sites I've looked at as well as Elton whose idea this whole thing is but let it be known that a good majority of the sites, they are basically in essence straight up advertising or confusing. All in all they are badly made and if they seem somewhat decent they add a little extra punch by using harsh colors.

So on that note of bashing others for their failure to do anything awesome I think right now would be a good time to put a Elton Nuytens quote right. Right here:

"Its a totally new concept to the consumer!"

Of course this was one of the many quotes I wish I could have gotten from him going on about how awesome this might be, but hey its the only one I fully got down word for word from his mouth to my pen.

But anyways since that is up there let me explain what it is we want to do. We want to start a website that offers some political criticism of everything but also, above all else offers consumers an informative look and rating system on both the viability of a product and its economic benefits that come with purchasing. For example, albeit a relatively simple one is an organic Apple from Washington State. Now whether or not this is from Washington or Oregon is irrelevant, however it is fruit which has to be carried long distances and perhaps sprayed, although this would ruin its organic goodness now wouldn't it. So, because this is an American apple, comes from an Certified Organic farm and even comes from Washington state, meaning for me that its literally from my backyard, that this fine apple, as a product, receives the highest rating on our scale. We haven't discussed the complications of our developed scale yet but we want to keep it simple, so a 3 star system (though technically an average) still yields a possibility of 4 ratings including zero. This literally would mean a truly epic failure, though likely missing the epic proportions needed for said epic fail.

But what exactly are we rating on? How do you expect people to take you guys seriously? We only need to get people that make products to come to us or we find them. There is a good amount of sites out there already that just have really bad layouts or products. We’d take a look at some of those products and give it our rating. Also some of what will be on this site with the layout pending would be the sometimes funny political cartoons and ranting of sorts, even perhaps a discussion on home gardening. We’d try to become so common place of a name (again which we have not thought through fully but we’re working on it) that essentially consumers would want to know about us and producers would want us to know them. It’s that simple. We’d just take a look at products, rate them on their value, evaluate and research their methods of production and also rate them on that. To make clear we would not be a certification, we would be a favorable review with a simple easy to follow rating system.

The rating system of course has the three parts I’ve mention before but never together at once. In order for the product to meet a full 3 star rating, it must be produced in the US, be worthy of its price and support families and workers with working wage jobs. If it is a fruit product, which I doubt we see as reviewing but you never know, the organic certification means that it falls under its value, and usually means that is from the US. Countries close to us that provide us with product would be rated on scale and essentially the closer to China you get the more likely a score of zero can be achieved.

And that is how this hopefully will all work. People will look to see our reviews because of our simplicity used. Companies will want to provide us incentive to view their product (not bribes! We’ll refuse to accept cash on the order of higher ratings!) Any ads on the site for products that do get good reviews will be our greatest income provider. Don’t know when the whole process of this will start but I’ll inform you guys without trying to advertise too much for us when it does come around to fruition.

CNN spelling mistake

Right now at 2:39 on CNN the headline is that there is some sort of controversy over a Bush/Cheney book. The headline says, "Ex-VP shopping tell all book!"

I don't know if this is book by Cheney or what. I just saw the headline of the discussion and immediately felt that it be noted ASAP!

Seriously CNN, why should people care when we can't even tell what you are trying to say? Spell correctly please!

And for those that noticed spellings errors on my behalf thanks for bringing them up. I hope now that everything is up to par for both your and my standards!

Poem from scratch: #1 Promises

My promise is my word. But I make sure it so much more.
A word only holds together a sentence
or a paragraph
or a line in a sonnet
or a few dear words in a love letter
but I like to think that words have something to hold onto
Something that means something
A meaning that makes it so much more
And makes a sentence more than a couple words
a paragraph more than a couple sentences
a sonnet more beautiful
a poem more romantic and rythmic
a love letter worth every detail to the dots of every I
Words are what we all use daily
But I try to make sure my words mean something more
And that's my promise to you

When you just don't care

Here I am hungover. In my temporary room, a lot of my stuff inaccessible or lost in the pile I've left of it in the living room. Where's my damn checkbook? I don't have a clue and though I should care, turning on every appliance in the kitchen before actually knowing what I was making for dinner makes me think otherwise. I made pizza, but feel like it is possibly the worst thing right now.

I can't think or focus, and focusing as always is hard. Worse when there is nothing to focus on. But I feel my blog has a purpose! My mind is numb and the damn light-bulb in my room is out. Its simpler than changing a tire, but right now I feel that my stench of Rum and the somehow acquired odor of weed that introduces itself over and over again is probably a good reason to not change a light bulb. Electricity doesn't like drunks, stoners or kids with forks. Being none, but easily mistakable as any of those right now, especially as I type while resting my head against the wall, I don't think its a good idea.

I also think its an odd connotation that when you're lonely you're emotional, and you're emotional because you're lonely.
"It's a vicious cycle, Mr. Reynolds."
Which it is, like everything else in life is, but I realized yesterday hours before the party, the cause of my reservations in relationships. Basically from the get go of my dating availability. Which is weird, because although I had a logical reason to not date in High School maybe from knowledge I did indeed have of things involving my mother and father's relationship, it wasn't till now that I can say and see it all in its affects on me. I don't devote to someone even if I love them for fear of that person crushing my heart. I can tell them almost anything, but in the one relationship that I did place my self into, and I can only blame myself, that's exactly what happened. It would only be after exchanges of trust that I can succeed past the head over heels part and truly and entirely be in love.

Found Poem: Nothing Lives Forever

Completing my application I found this poem of sorts. I can't really describe it as anything else. I did it a couple weeks ago and almost forgot I did it. Anyways here it is...

It is said that the evil that men do will forever be remembered.
But how can we be man, when there is so much more to us?
We didn’t come from a god in his image for we are truly more complicated.

We aren’t the logical but caring machine that is described as god.
We have a emotions and passion, a logic that as long as we see fit the final end, it defeats the mean.
We don’t have a God for this, and yet if there is anybody that becomes closer to god in any way they cannot for they are human. Always will be.

Held to the soil and earth.

Held to money and worth.

There is always food to hunger, always water to thirst.

Great Spam findings #1

Got this one yesterday and thought it was definitely worth sharing. I don't open spam but I'll provide you the title because its too hilarious.

"The fuun is juust begininning wheen you poop an ED piill"

So apparently adding double letters to everything is great, until you totally change the meaning of something. Like popping pills to pooping pills.

There's no greater way to start the day other than finding that in your spam box.

And I am guessing I'll find many more great finds.

Something you probably shouldn't say to anybody

I thought this up a year or two ago.

"Could you be a deer, and get hit by a car!"

Thank you ladies and gentlemen
